Eph. 1:18-19aVs 3: “Spiritual Blessings in Christ”App: Hear the Spirit calling you to put your trust in ChristWhile in the Old Testament blessings were measured by temporal stuff (wealth, harvest, kids), this was a foreshadow of the one true blessing, God Himself.App: We must learn to draw upon that which is made available to us through Christ if we are to be a part of anything of eternal significance.Vs 4: He chose us (perfectly)…to be holy.Make every effort to live in peace with all men and to be holy; without holiness no one will see the Lord. Vs 5: Adoption: To be given adult status (access) as an heir to the throneApp: We can learn to operate out of our riches in Christ.Predestined (proorizoô: horizon): Why don’t we like that word?1)We don’t understand it.2)We don’t like the potential consequences.3)It’s been misrepresented.It’s about God’s plan for His Church:…we are God’s workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do. Ephesians 2:10Vs 7: Redemption: purchasing for the purpose of setting it freeFor you know that it was not with perishable things such as silver or gold that you were redeemed from the empty way of life handed down to you from your forefathers, 19but with the precious blood of Christ, a lamb without blemish or defect. 20He was chosen before the creation of the world, but was revealed in these last times for your sake. 21Through Him you believe in God, who raised Him from the dead and glorified Him, and so your faith and hope are in God. 1Peter 1:18-21Forgiveness: Literally “to carry away”What is God’s Spirit speaking into your life today?
