Psalm 51:5…our righteous acts are like filthy rags… Isaiah 64:6 “…Believe in the Lord Jesus, and you will be saved—you and your household.” Acts 16:31Yet to all who received Him, to those who believed in His name, He gave the right to become children of God—John 1:12Vs 1-2: “Follow”: to walk or meander aimlessly as a way of life “Course of the world”: a weathervane blown by the windApp: All Eyes on Jesus! Vs 3: Verses 1-2 resulting in the need to feed our flesh…If anyone else thinks he has reasons to put confidence in the flesh, I have more: 5circumcised on the eighth day, of the people of Israel, of the tribe of Benjamin, a Hebrew of Hebrews; in regard to the law, a Pharisee; 6as for zeal, persecuting the church; as for legalistic righteousness, faultless. 7But whatever was to my profit I now consider loss for the sake of Christ. Philippians 3:4-7App: See Philippians 3:10 I want to know Christ and the power of his resurrection and the fellowship of sharing in his sufferings, becoming like him in his death, 11and so, somehow, to attain to the resurrection from the dead. And this will be the sign to you that it is I who have sent you: When you have brought the people out of Egypt, you will worship God on this mountain.” Exodus 3:12This is love: not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son as an atoning sacrifice for our sins. 1John 4:10For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.
