Own the prayer:“If anyone is thirsty, let him come to me and drink. 38Whoever believes in me, as the Scripture has said, streams of living water will flow from within him.” 39By this he meant the Spirit, whom those who believed in him were later to receive. Up to that time the Spirit had not been given, since Jesus had not yet been glorified. John 7:37-39Vs 17a: The reason the previous is true: “so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith.” Compare with Jesus’ words in John 14:In My Father’s house are many mansions; if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. John 14:2 “If anyone loves me, he will obey my teaching. My Father will love him, and we will come to him and make our home with him. John 14:23Spiritual Breathing: If I retake the throne of my life through sin -- a definite act of disobedience 1.I Exhale – I agree with God that I’ve sinned, I repent of that sin and thank Him for the forgiveness He made available on the cross. (according to 1 John 1:9, Hebrews 10:1-25). Confession involves repentance - a change in attitude and action.2.I Inhale -- surrender the control of my life to Christ, and receive the fullness of the Holy Spirit by faith. Trust that He now directs and empowers me; according to the command of Ephesians 5:18, and the promise of 1John 5:14, 15.Vs 17b: Grasping God’s Ungraspable LoveApp: The Key to our being able to love beyond human reason is the Holy Spirit’s power at work in our lives.
