In my sermon on Ephesians 4, I contrasted the futile life of a "Gentile," which starts with a hard heart and leads to a darkened understanding, with our new life in Christ. I explained that we're not just improved versions of our old selves; we are a brand-new creation. The old me is dead and buried, and I have put on Christ himself. Because of this, I must live differently. This means speaking truth, handling anger in a godly way, working to provide for others, and building people up with my words, all while putting away bitterness and wrath.
