Daniel Houck discusses Paul’s instructions in Ephesians 4:25–5:2, which include specific ways we are to put off the old man and put on the new man. The old man lies, the new man tells the truth. The old man is angry for revenge, the new man is zealous for justice & mercy. The old man steals, the new man works hard, in order to give to others. The old man tears people down with negative speech, the new man builds people up with edifying speech. The old man is malicious, the new man is forgiving.
