- 5:6-14 - Children of light exposing the darkness
- 5:15-17 - Put off: foolishness, Put on: wisdom
- 5:18 - Put off: drunkenness, Put on: filled with the Spirit
- 5:19-20 - Put on: Spiritual songs & thanksgiving
- 5:21 - Put on: Submission
