Ephesians 3 is deeply personal. Paul is no longer speaking just as an apostle or theologian; he speaks as a prisoner whose chains bear witness to the message he proclaims. His imprisonment is not incidental to the gospel, it is the consequence of announcing that the nations have been welcomed into the covenant blessings promised through Israel's Messiah.
