The first thing Paul does in chapter 1 of the book of Ephesians is talk about who we are in Christ, what our inheritance is, what He gave us. Paul gives us the prize first. Then in chapter 2, he challenges us to live worthy of that prize. Notice the description that Paul uses starting out chapter 2. This is God’s description of what He saved you from.
