October 13, 1972 a Uruguayan Rugby team boarded aircraft Air Force Fairchild F-227 to attend a rugby match in Chile. Harsh conditions made the aircraft crash into the Andes Mountains. The tail of the plane was missing, & shortly after the two wings would also break off. The plane was headed straight into the the mountainside. For 72 days, the passengers would endure unimaginable situations.
