She worked as an Epidemic Intelligence Service Officer for the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and at the Utah Department of Health before joining the faculty of the University of Utah School of Medicine full time. Dr. Porucznik teaches epidemiology in the master of public health program and is the director of the academic program in addition to conducting community-based research on environmental exposures and childrens’ health. She’s passionate about breastfeeding, clear communication, and public health.
