Jesus is no longer a baby. The journey of the wise men points to the universal reach of Jesus’s kingship, a Saviour not just for Israel but for the world. Who are we in this story? Are we the wise men who recognize Jesus? Or do we dismiss the reality of Jesus? Lots of people are happy for Jesus to remain baby Jesus in the manger in December. But are they ready for Him to be King in January and through all the years? It took a king (three kings in fact) to recognize The King. The challenge remains: do we recognize Jesus as King and Lord in our lives today?
