Who We Are

I’ve had an interest in firearms ever since I can remember.  However, at home my passion of firearms was not shared with my family and unfortunately never had the chance to fully develop.

Fast forward, about 25 years (marriage, career, children, etc.), during a random conversation with my wife, we both discovered a shared interest in visiting a shooting range.  After shooting my first round, all of the love and passion for guns locked away in my childhood memories immediately flooded back.

With what I call my true experience only extending just over a year, I asked my friend Pete to help discuss these issues in a real and factual based way.  Knowing that Pete being a former county sheriff, swat team member, firearms instructor and an individual who’s been around firearms his entire life would be an invaluable resource.

Our Belief

We believe that guns can be safe, do not need to be scary, can be useful, vital and even fun with the littlest of effort by the gun user.

Our Mission

Trigger Discipline’s primary mission is to provide valuable information for people interested in entering the firearm world, fosters curiosity about firearms or wants to expand their existing knowledge.

There are a lot of resources that currently exist, but the majority of available information requires some basic knowledge and understanding of firearms.  There is no doubt when you jumping into the firearms pool it can seem like you are being pushed into the deep end without a lifeguard in sight.  Don’t get us wrong.  There are a lot of sources out there who can provide the exact guidance you may need and we would be happy to recommend any of these to you.  However, we strive to differ ourselves by providing information in multiple formats allowing anybody to learn regardless of their schedule

Additionally, if you have followed the news at all you no doubt have realized that gun control in this country is a polarizing topic.  According to all of the information readily available to citizens of the United States of America and even the entire world, you are allowed to have one of two opinions on gun control.

Either, guns are the root of all evil and all pro-gun advocates are gun clinging psychopaths with a disproportionate love affair for guns who care about nothing else other than their guns.  Therefore nobody should have guns, or anti-gun advocates are attempting to disarm all citizens to enslave us and warp our minds to conform to their view of a utopian society where we are all pawns in their human version of chess.  Therefore everybody should be gifted a gun (or maybe even a tank) at birth, to protect society from evil dictators.

Our secondary mission is to clear a path through all of the misinformation and smear campaigns generated by both sides of the above extremes.  We realized that this is a difficult task.  People have been indoctrinated to the point where these concerns are valid in their mind.  When a gun involved tragedy occurs, both sides retreat to the same extreme point of view.  Unfortunately, this does nothing to solve a problem.  The only thing this accomplishes is personal reaffirmation of an individual’s existing point of view.

Trigger Discipline feels the need to productively discuss facts in an effort to bring people closer together, giving them the ability to see things from a different perspective and willingness to compromise in a way that we can protect people, provide safety and ensure that the rights of every citizen guaranteed to them by our Constitution are upheld.
