High Performers are people that are more successful than their peers. Not only more successful, but they do so on a more consistent basis. They're usually less stressed, as well.
Amongst other factors, Burchard and his team have completed extensive research to find out why some people are more successful than others - and how they do it happier. His team has found out over decades of interviews and research that it comes down to six different habits.
DEVELOP INFLUENCE is the fifth personal habit that Brendon Burchard speaks about.
Burchard breaks this down into three sections.
1) - Teach People How to Think
- critical to being in a position of management, Burchard encourages leaders and individuals to morally challenge their people to challenge others how they think of ...
- themselves
- others
- the world around them
2) - Challenge People to Grow
- Challenging other people is NOT condemning them
- your INTENT and TONE matters during communication
- those who challenge and influence, do so in three separate realms with people,
1) Character (providing feedback & direction)
2) Connection (how EXACTLY do they add value to the business and other people)
3) Contribution (encouraging others to be creative in adding value)
3) - Role Model the Way
- High Performers have laser-focused intention on how to improve other people and help them achieve a result
- let all of the outside drama go, and continue to be a role model for your people
*** To be influential, is LINEAR to my ability to be INFLUENCED ***
