Well the answer to this would primarily be based on a number of factor. Primarily the equation of were you born as a male or female. Of course you yourself may identify as a number of lgbtq labels. But essentially the sex for which God created you as is the very core of this question. Which in retrospect gay or lesbian is practically the same thing. A lust and or liking for the same sex. Yet if you are a male and identify as gay and a female and identify as lesbian. This simple definition is miles away from what society sees as appropriate and acceptable.

Probably one of the primary reasons that gay and lesbian is miles apart is because of the misconceptions and or myths that are spoken about and expected of each gender. These myths are particularly in-tune and heavy in the african-american, hispanics and especially the caribbean islands. Myths such as “real men don't cry.” Straight men cant give each other a hug. Straight men should have sex with multiple women to prove his manhood. Women ought to shut up, cook clean and take care of the babies. Now i'm not one to think that the way God designed male and female is for a unique purpose and one can do what the other can’t. I.e. no man in human history has ever  carried a baby for 9 months. Just not possible. We weren't built for that. And because these basic facts hold true it is more acceptable and “appropriate” for a women to be in a same sex relationship with another women openly. While a man especially a gay black man is criticized ostracized and obscured to a point of darkness for which has perpetuated this DL lifestyle amongst minority men. A women says she’s leabian, guys says cool lets do a three some. Guy says hes gay, he’s told get the f up out my face nigga. And or threatened with violence like Jussie Smollett. These myths of male masculinity needs to stop, and what yo think as gay may not actually be gay at all.

Dont judge a person by what you only see in the media. Give the person a chance to speak their own truths. You may just learn something.
