On this episode of the podcast Cody, Tierra, and Tim take an in depth look at the second episode of the first season of Avatar: The Last Airbender. They take a look at some of the themes that are present throughout the show and touch on a variety of subject matter including: what real world culture each of the different nations are based off of, what real world martial arts each of the bending styles are based off of, the evolution and growth that each of the characters go through, the first encounters between some of our favourite characters, remembering the fact that the main character of the show is only a child, the trickster archetype versus the warrior archetype, the subconscious symbology that can be found within animation, and invoking emotions through the use of textures and tones.
