Episode 002: The Connector

“The Maven. The Connector. The Salespeople.”

In Malcolm Gladwell’s “The Tipping Point”, he describes 3 types of people.

The Maven - Creates change through information & ideas.

The Connector - Creates change through people.

The Salespeople - Creates change through persuasion.


Now, you might argue that me working in sales as a Realtor® would automatically put me in the “Salespeople” category.
Even though being in sales is my job, it’s not “what I do”.


There is much more to all of us than the moniker we get assigned from the jobs we have.
So, while on the surface, “Salespeople” might be the logical category for me based on my job, I have realized that probably isn’t the correct placement for me.


Underneath the sales aspect of my job lies a life of connecting.

I connect buyers and sellers.

I connect experts and their advice with listeners that need to hear it on the podcast I used to host.

I was actually just reminded recently of an episode about depression and addiction when someone thanked me because they reached out to my guest Kristine for her advice after reading this post and listening to the episode. 

-Side note: How awesome is that?!?!

And just recently I have been lucky enough to be put in a position to connect others in my industry with opportunities they weren’t even aware existed.


Even on a personal level, when I know someone is looking for something and I know another person that has an answer, I feel it’s my duty to connect them.

So while sales may be my job, it's not “what I do”.

What do I do? 

I connect.
