- Summary: The old Digital Equipment Corporation, also known as DEC, had back in the day a PDP-11 successor for minicomputers known as VAX. On entering college back in those days, I was introduced to our computing services department computer systems on which we would be completing our first year computer science homework. It was named HMCVAX, and it could crash at some inopportune times.
