"Vacation Intimidation”
As real estate agents, we work hard with the hope that we will get to play hard.
The challenge is, when is it time to play?
For the most part, agents have a tough time “turning it off”.
Knowing that we typically work with a single input to single output business model, meaning that we work with a client to buy or sell a home, we get paid solely on that home sale and just that one time.
When working with that particular model, it can be scary, and even intimidating to go “play” or take a vacation.
We know that if we are not working at all times, we are not generating any income.
So while we are on vacation we find ourselves checking our phones, stepping away from family and friends to take a call while at dinner. How can we really relax while on vacation?
I had this exact thing happen last year while my family and another family spent the day at Knott’s Berry Farm.
While everyone else was having a great time and enjoying each other’s company. I was stepping out of lines for rides and stuck on the phone, putting out fires and trying to respond to new leads.
It isn't what I wanted to do, but the way my business was built at that time, it was what I needed to do in order to survive.
No wonder so many agents worry about taking vacation. For most it’s a double edged sword.
On one hand, you may lose out on business because you are gone, but when you get there, you lose out on family. Running away frequently to answer calls, texts, and emails.
That is why I have been implementing, a single input to multiple output model into my business.
This type of model allows me to step away from my business and have it continue to run, giving me my life and time back to spend with my family. Allowing me to not be afraid of vacation.
By replacing the 1 to 1 strategy that I and way too many other agents had been stuck in, with a 1 to many approach, a whole new world emerged for me.
One that eliminated the threat of…
Vacation Intimidation.
