In today’s episode of Smörgåsbord, Mik and Angel try something new, they try to make a video episode! Inspired by the tradition in Japan of eating KFC during Christmas, Angel and Mik try all the craze about flavouring rice with KFC chicken!

 

Here is the recipe we used for this episode.

 

Hot Chicken Rice

1 rice cooker 

3 pieces of KFC chicken

3 cups of rice 

1/2 cup of vegetable broth

1/4 cup soy sauce

3 cups of water

 

For the spicy touch:

1/4 cup of your favourite hot sauce(s)

 

Instructions:

1. Rinse rice (see instructions below)
2. Put rice in rice cooker
3. Add the water, vegetable broth, soy sauce, and hot sauce blend
4. Stir rice and liquid mixture
5. Add chicken to the rice cooker, leave on top
6. Start rice cooker and wait until finished
7. Once finished, remove the contents and enjoy!

 

Side tip: Follow instructions below on how to rinse rice

1. Put rice in a large bowl
2. Run the bowl of rice over cold water while stirring the rice with your fingers
3. Drain water
4. Repeat until the water drained is clear
