This summer, Eric will be talking about horror movies that evoke the feelings of summer. Camping trips, beach days, broken down RV’s that leave families stranded in the desert defenseless against cannibalistic mutants... you know, all that fun stuff we know and love.

Requirements for movies that will be discussed this series:

✅ The sunnier the better. I would prefer movies that take place PRIMARILY during the day. (i.e. The Hills Have Eyes, Sleepaway Camp, etc.)

✅ Must take place during summer (duh.) Spring Break movies don’t count even if they share a similar aesthetic.

✅ Shark movies/Creature Features DO count as horror. People who say Jaws isn’t horror need to be slapped promptly and with great force.

Eric begins the episode talking about what he's been watching – like the series finale of Ash vs. Evil Dead, season two of Santa Clarita Diet. He also had the opportunity to watch the 35mm screening of Texas Chain Saw Massacre, Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2 and Leatherface: The Texas Chainsaw Massacre III in Los Angeles presented by Friday Night Frights – with the incredible Caroline Williams attending!!!

Then, he kicks off the Summer of Fear series by diving into Wes Craven's 1978 TV movie of the same name. Summer of Fear stars a post-Exorcist Linda Blair and Lee Purcell in her first role.
