“Frustration"
Why are we always sold on how great everything is?
Rarely ever does anyone share the struggles of what it takes to get where you want to go.
It is always a before and after photo.
Either after losing 30lbs or a rags to riches, “how I went from selling 1 home per year to this photo of me standing next to a private jet”
I get that everyone loves an underdog story, I’m no different. I love seeing people overcome obstacles too.
But the disservice to those watching is that they are filled with false hope and beliefs that it happens overnight.
It doesn’t prepare them for the true struggle they are about to embark on.
That is why I started the “Learn For 2” podcast.
To document the journey I am on to help real estate agents transition into the next stage of their career, and do it comfortably.
Part of the process for me to do this is to create a system that can be duplicated by any agent that is ready to come onboard.
As I have seen it used in other industries, I have yet to see it in the real estate industry.
That means I have a limited amount of people that I can emulate, also meaning, I will have to take the brunt of the trial and error.
But, this is something that I signed up for.
I know there are going to be ups and downs during the process and I’m ready for them.
The past few weeks have been mostly filled with “ups”. Since starting the podcast I’ve gone from 45 partners to partnering with 57 agents from around the country and Canada.
And… it has been awesome!
But as I continue to grow the team and put the processes in place to get this system as perfect and duplicatable as possible, I’m bound to run into some down days.
Today is one of those days.
Nothing seems to be going as planned.
One of the major pieces to the system went down and I have been dealing with it, trying to get it fixed or I can’t efficiently communicate with other agents the way the system is designed.
Then, an email comes across my phone that makes me feel like it is just taking too long, “Am I really that far behind?"
“I want to move faster”
Then the self-doubt kicks in, “Am I even good enough to make this work?”, putting me into a funk. Making it even harder to get anything done.
In most cases I would have waited until I overcame this to share with others.
Joking about how it wasn’t that bad and say, “Hey! everything is great now"
But that goes against what this podcast is all about.
If I only shared the highlights of the journey it wouldn’t be real, it wouldn’t be authentic. The struggles are just as important as successes when it comes to the growth throughout the process.
Even though I’ve had a great few weeks in a row, every now and again I’m going to face a “down” day or 2.
The important part is to keep going, and to not give in to the…
