In this week's CHALK TALK, we discuss the importance and impact of CONNECTION in the coaching field and beyond.
Connecting with the individuals we work with and serve is imperative to their success in pursuit of their goals. In order to get an athlete (in sport or in life) to adhere to a program or plan, there needs to be some sort of mutual trust and respect between both parties involved.
In this episode, I share a little bit about why I believe connection is so important and is a "soft skill" that deserves to be practiced, individuals that had a big impact on my belief in this, as well as tools and strategies to build relationships with the individuals around you.
In many ways, the things discussed in this episode may seem second-nature, and it's not meant to be revolutionary. I am simply trying to emphasize the importance of the simple things in coaching (and life) that sometimes get overlooked.
