Dove hunting has similarities and differences when compared to other hunting experiences that we enjoy. As with any activity, it is much more fun when shared with a friend. Hunting doves is more of a social experience and usually has several participants. This sport also helps bridge the gap from summer to fall while we are waiting for deer season. It typically starts in September when the weather is transitioning to cooler temperatures. To get started, grab a bucket, shotgun, lots of shells, and some camo. A great place to find them is a field that has recently been mowed or harvested. If sunflowers and water are present, this is the ideal setup. Get out there and give it a try!
