Jon Richards and his cousin, Jacob Durham, launched Nomatic on Kickstarter with a simple minimalist wallet. That Kickstarter ended up raising over $100,000. Since then, they have transitioned to bags and have raised over $13 million on Kickstarter. Things were going really well and they were growing quickly, but the past 12 months brought them back to reality quickly. They went through a series of major struggles on top of COVID, and have been trying to adapt their company since travel is pretty nonexistent these days. During these times, Jon experienced his first major bouts of depression, and in this episode he reveals what he does to keep his emotions in check and how he's been able to stabilize Nomatic when it might not have looked possible even just a few months ago.
