Models are one class of predictive tool for nitrogen management. They offer many advantages, but also carry inherent risks associated with attempting to quantify and predict how a complex system will respond to nitrogen. Our guest for this episode, Dr. Laila Puntel, is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Agronomy and Horticulture at the University of Nebraska - Lincoln. Her expertise is in soil and water sciences - particularly soil fertility and precision agriculture - and she has extensive experience working in nitrogen and crop model development.
