Most of them aren’t right or wrong, but rather a preference of the individual using the strategies.
Sure, some can be more effective than others, but most can work to a degree.
One that I would say that doesn’t work well…
Is trashing someone else in order to get someone to see your value.
In my opinion, if you have to do that, you have no value to offer.1
