Those statements reflect perseverance according to culture. A Biblical perspective of perseverance is very different.
Biblical perseverance can include some of these things, but not because we’ve earned something, but because we’ve already received something - that being the gift of eternal life AND the power of God’s Holy Spirit! It is not up to our strength, but to the strength of God that is IN us!
Perseverance means that we let nothing move us. If you want to persevere, you have to fix your eyes on the finish and fix your feet on a promise.
