Episode 053 - Alcohol Laws

Listen Later

On June 3rd 2020, the Ontario Court of Appeal found that Section 33.1 of the Criminal Code of Canada (Self-induced intoxication) infringed on the Charter rights of the accused, causing an uproar about the potential use for said defense in cases of sexual assault and rape.
On the heels of this decision, Mike and Adam discuss some recent (and not-so-recent) changes to laws pertaining to alcohol in Canada, in a follow up to Episode 51, "Quirky Laws in Canada".
