Episode 055: Making Cooking Uncomplicated with Jenna Kranz

Listen Later

I couldn’t be more thrilled to introduce you to my dear friend Jenna Kranz! I first met Jenna not long after moving to North Carolina. She interviewed me for a job actually to help her bake granola for her granola business! You’ll hear more about that in our episode! We’ve included her delicious granola 3 different times in our boxes. Now Jenna has shifted gears and shut down her granola business to pursue her passion - a nonprofit called Uncomplicated Kitchen. She teaches weekly classes on how to make simple food with simple ingredients - especially using local foods! Because of the coronavirus situation, Jenna has improvised and made a YouTube channel doing what she does best: teaching others to make amazing food.

Jenna is a wife, a mother to a toddler, and a food business owner who knows what it's like to have to to have to get a meal on the table in a half hour, sometimes with no plan and few ingredients. But with a bit of creativity, some basic pantry staples, and self-taught culinary skills, she’s always fed my family. Her goal is to help her students learn to do the same - to feed their families nutritious and delicious meals, even if they just had the basics. She wants to help students break free from the doldrums/inconvenience/intimidation/budget constraints of home cooking and find joy, happiness, and confidence in meal planning, grocery shopping, and meal preparation.

Jenna is a whole bunch of fun and I know you will love her just as much as I do! Enjoy my conversation with Jenna.
