"I Carry Her Spirit in Me" is a conversation with guest Fiona Kirkpatrick-Parsons (Standing Elk), a woman of Woodland Cree and Scottish heritage from Amachewespimawin, Treaty 6 Territory (Stanley Mission, Saskatchewan). She is the Senior National Advisor (kā-nīkānīt) of Deloitte Indigenous at Deloitte Canada, with many years of professional experience in a variety of roles across multiple sectors. In this episode, we talk about the impacts of inter-generational trauma, as well as the hope that inter-generational healing brings to current and future generations. Fiona shares her stories of living on- and off-reserve, attending Indian Day School, and how her family has overcome the many obstacles thrown their way.
