Episode 063: “Building Relationships Vs. Spamming”

Tomorrow I will be hosting a class that will show real estate agents how to create their very own podcast.

This class is to help agents add another tool to their toolbox.

It will be focused on how to build relationships by getting people to know, like, and trust them.

Unfortunately, we are taught in this industry to burst through the door, spamming and bugging people until they are too tired to fight back.

Including one strategy that has us telling homeowners that are trying to sell their own home, that we have a buyer that is interested in their home. Asking if we can come preview it.

The reality is, there is no buyer. There never was.

It is an opportunity for an agent to get in front of the seller and try to get a listing.

I hate this strategy.

I know that some agents do have success with it. I just don't like it, it goes against my core values.

When we know that people do business with those they know, like, and trust, then why are we starting our relationship off with a lie?

If you lied to them, they won't trust you, if they don't trust you, they probably won't like you. If they don't like or trust you, they'll probably wish they didn't know you.
