When we think about quitting, we usually think of it as a negative.
However, this is one of those things that I am not so "black & white" on. There is definitely a touch of grey.
When it comes to my kids giving up on something because they are frustrated they are not getting it right or just don't feel like it, then I don't like quitting.
For example, if they start a sport season, they have to finish out their commitment.
And if at the end of that season they decide they no longer want to play the next season, they can quit then.
But not until they fulfill their commitment they have made to us, their teammates, and themselves.
On the flip-side I think quitting can be a good thing.
Especially if what you are doing is holding you back from becoming something more.
That is how I feel about the day that I tossed the keys on the counter and told my boss, "I'm out"
If I hadn't quit that day, who knows where I would have ended up.
By quitting that day, I was able to pursue something more.
So is quitting a good or bad thing?
I believe it can be both.
