[Episode 0832] [Rebel Civics] Assault Weapons Ban

Listen Later

The U.S. House recently passed the “Assault Weapons Ban of 2022.” In this live episode of Rebel Civics, Keith reviews the bill in detail from a constitutional perspective, shooting it full of holes.
Congress has far overstepped their delegated authority with this clearly unconstitutional bill. The three possibilities on congress-critters who voted in favor are explored: Are they stupid, do they have a poor memory, or does their goal have nothing to do with reducing violent crime using firearms?
Keith goes through the congressional attempt to define “assault rifle,” pointing out that they are either unwilling or unable to define the thing they want to ban. He provides an actual one-sentence definition of a so-called “assault rifle,” offered free to Nancy Pelosi if she should ever become willing to name the thing she hates seeing in the hands of the people.
