Fort Worth Texas Public Library music librarian Rita Alfaro joins the Fort Worth Roots Podcast to explain the selection process for Amplify 817. We talk about how the curator panel is put together and how they vote as a team to bring awesome new local music to the amplify817.org catalogue. It was a sincere honor to have Rita on the show and we are looking forward to our next recording! Big thank you to Francisco Aguilar and Theresa Davis of the Fort Worth Public Library for getting us together.

Rita, thank you so much for setting aside time to speak with me!
Questions: How does Amplify 817 pick musicians? How does Amplify 817 choose people for the curator panel? How can I get on Amplify 817? How to be a curator on the amplify 817 panel? What is happening to the Fort Worth Central Library building? What is Amplify 817? Who is Rita Alfaro? What impact is Elon Musk having on south Texas? Who has the largest single level library in the US? What is happening in Fort Worth?
Also mark on your calendars an event that I've been hinting around at for about a month now. On Saturday, September 10th from 1pm to 6pm at Pouring Glory just off Main Street in Fort Worth, about one city block east of Main at South Side. Fort Worth
Roots will be celebrating our 100th episode. As of right now it looks like we will have 4 local bands performing for
you on the outdoor stage, we are going to have various vendors in a little pop up style market, Pouring Glory is going to
provide a special event menu for the party along with discounted drink prices, and we will be giving out some free swag
for those of you that come out to show some support! So mark this on your Calendar!
