This is a teaser for the Advent 2020 series, releasing next week.
The series will use the parable of the Good Samaritan (Luke 10:25-37) as a vehicle to examine the theme of 'being neighbourly'. I think we could all stand to gain from some more neighbourly behaviour in our world right now. It's been a tough year for so many people - no matter their race, creed, economic, political or social views - and we do seem to struggle as a human species to practice the art of being neighbourly towards each other. Especially when the 'neighbours' are different to us.
So, in this episode I give a brief idea of what to expect from the series, as well as a simple thought from the text. I focus on the character who is a mere blip on the radar in the parable, the innkeeper. What wisdom could this character possibly have to share with us? Well, have a listen and see...
I hope you find this series helpful and provocative. I would love to hear your thoughts/comments/questions/disagreements in response.
