A believer is someone who just accepts something as true versus a disciple who takes that truth and applies it, practices it, or experiences it! Disciples have power to transform their life, believers let life happen to them.
Scripture Gem: "A disciple is not above his teacher, nor a servant above his master." ~Matthew 10:24
This passage in Matthew 10:24 holds wisdom as simple as ABC for those looking to embark on the journey of becoming a disciple. This scripture gem shows us that we must A. follow, B. focus, and C. practice if we want to move from being a believer to a disciple.

The first practical step of becoming a disciple is recognizing that you are "not above" the teacher. The phrase "is not above the teacher" here in the original Greek language means to remain unwilling to exceed a superior one. To become unaware of an existence superior to the one who leads the way to salvation. To find it impossible to exist without Jesus or to simply not crave anything else, but what is truth.
Everyday Wisdom: So, everyday wake up and say: GOD I TO SURRENDER YOU! I WILL FOLLOW YOU!
B. Focus
When we accept the truth of God and humble ourselves by recognizing that we are not the leader of our lives then we need to do step B, which is to focus on Christ, who is the leader. We focus by knowing what the teacher knows and trusting that He is telling us the truth.
Everyday Wisdom: So, everyday: read your Bible and purpose in your heart to truth Jesus!
C. Practice
Once you follow by surrendering and focus by trusting Jesus, then go out and do what God says. This is the principal of obedience.
Everyday Wisdom: So, everyday: obey or put into practice what you have read in the Bible.
Put these steps into practice every day and your journey to having the power of God in your life to be victorious every day begins.
