Ash Wednesday 2026
Can We Skip to the Good Part? — Dust, Kin(g)dom, and the Life We’re Living Now
Lent begins with ashes.
“Remember you are dust, and to dust you shall return.”
But Ash Wednesday is not about shame. It is about honesty. It is about remembering who we are — formed from dust and filled with breath (Genesis 2:7).
In this first episode of Can We Skip to the Good Part?, we explore what it means to live between mortality and kin(g)dom. Jesus begins his ministry proclaiming, “The time is fulfilled. God’s kin(g)dom has come near. Change your hearts and lives, and trust this good news” (Mark 1:15).
If the kin(g)dom has come near, then eternal life is not postponed. It begins now.
But we still see the gap between what we believe and how we live.
This episode reflects on:
Dust and human mortality
Why faith is not an escape plan
Isaiah 58 and the fast God actually chooses
A real-life example of kin(g)dom becoming visible
Why personal change must lead to visible change in our communities
Lent is not self-punishment. It is openness to formation.
We don’t skip to the good part.
We let God form us into the kind of people who can live in it.
Follow along throughout Lent 2026 as we explore fear, wilderness seasons, stress responses, and how faith actually takes shape under pressure.
