Welcome to Season 3 (trial 2) of Legally Dirty Blonde! I say this from the get in this episode but I’ll admit my bias on this case one more time.  I wasn’t going to cover this because of my lifelong love for Johnny Depp  but honestly the amount of nonsense that has gone on  and has been shared about this needs and deserves some explanation.  There is so much to cover in this case it is nearly impossible for anyone to get it all in (even the lawyers litigating it in court).  So hang in there with me and I promise we will get to all of the evidence and I will explain it as we go.  But for now we are just talking background and what went on before the trial.

So today we talk about a few things: 
1) The background of Johnny and Amber’s relationship & how we ended up on CourtTV in a defamation suit 
2) Johnny’s defamation claims & suit seeking $50 mill and Amber Heard’s counterclaims for defamation seeking $100mill 
3) AH’s  pretrial motions seeking dismissal and  the Judge’s opinion schooling AH’s legal team for their arguably frivolous motion based on the UK defamation case JD brought against The Sun
4) A SUPER important pretrial motion by Johnny’s team about AH’s failure to comply with the Judge’s order directing her to turn over all her devices (phones etc) and photos showing her alleged injuries and damages to the apartment and his team asking for sanctions for being prejudiced by not having these extremely relevant items of discovery before the trial began (SUSPECT) 
5) What will both sides have to prove to prove Defamation in Virginia (& the additional hurdle for public figures - actual malice)

So like I said - trying to keep it unbiased but next, I will be doing an episode  that is full of some of my bias (and mainly the facts) about why AH is in no way credible.  I will mark that one as bias if you want to skip it and keep a more juror like perspective.
