In this episode we talk about a fight between a service advisor and a technician. This episode is about more than just a fight between coworkers. This happens because of elevated tension that is not dealt with by the leader.

The life of a technician can be a hard one. Scrapping for hours every day, spending your time to do free inspections hoping you service advisor sells it, and then your part does not come in and you can’t finish that big job you needed for this payroll. This can be a lonely and frustrating position in the dealership. You have to count on everyone around you to perform at a high level so you can just turn a paycheck. All that frustration can build up over time, especially when no one even says hi to you unless you did something wrong. That why I was not surprised when by this fight broke out.

The technician is not the only pressure-cooker ready to explode. The advisor life can be equally as stressful. The days are long and the pressure is high. You have the daily pressure to perform, angry customers coming at you all the time, and then you have a technician that is taking to long on a job. All of this is a recipe for disaster.

Now imagine these two forces of frustration come together at the peak of their pressure… POP! they blow their tops.
