Welcome to Episode 1 on the Power of My Identity Podcast featuring dialogues from the diaspora. In this episode, I had the opportunity to speak with powerhouse woman Ms. Nia Black Amuzie.  She is a Tedx Speaker and advocate for Hepatitis B awareness in West Africa. Below is Nia's Bio:
Nia Black Amuzie is a TEDx Speaker and the Founder and Executive Director of Glow Up Africa, a non profit organization that focuses on raising awareness for Hepatitis B prevalence and also building libraries in schools across West Africa. She is also the Director of Fundraising for the Bobsled and Skeleton Federation of Nigeria and a TV Perosnality. She used to host the show “Conversations” on Afrocentrik TV Network where she discusses issues relating to politics, entertainment, and lifestyle to name a few. Nia Black is a graduate of the prestigious King's College London, where she did her master's in Global Health and Social Justice with focus on tackling global epidemics around the World focusing on international actors like the UN, IMF and WHO. She's worked on several mental health projects both in the UK and in Africa and has been featured on several panels discussing the importance of diaspora engagement in developing Africa. Nia Black is also the recipient of the 2019 Global Diaspora Champion Award.
