In this episode, we look at some pieces that have been removed and displaced far from where they were created. We’ll be digging into their histories and uncovering how these pieces ended up so far away from home and how they acquired importance beyond their literal backstories. We’ll also consider the problem of their repatriation and address the question currently plaguing museums: who really owns art and how do we put the pieces back together?
Show Notes:
2. Further reading on the Horses of St. Marks
3. Further reading on the Volute Krater
