HPCritical has created a JRPG club. As a book club would, we chose a video game, and we choose portions of it to progress through as we come together once a month to discuss the title. The first game the JRPG club chose to delve into is Final Fantasy X. This classic JRPG was the first Final Fantasy to have voice acting, and changed the way games in the Final Fantasy series were perceived. As one of the more accessible Final Fantasy titles for beginners, we chose Final Fantasy X as the first game the JRPG club will tackle.

Join HPCritical and friends as they tread through FFX and join the journey if you’d like. The first stopping point is reaching Killika and seeing the famous “Sending scene” in which Yuna performs the Sending ritual. This time we share our initial impressions of the game, the story so far, how we feel about the characters, and the battle mechanics, all from the perspective of JRPG and FFX veterans to newcomers some of whom have never played a JRPG before.
