On our first episode, we talk about the sad and clearly avoidable murder of 13-year old Laotian boy Konerak Sinthasomphone, who one article dubbed as "Dahmer’s Victim Who Didn’t Have To Die" (stmuhistorymedia.org). Everyone knows Dahmer, and how sick and twisted he was. But can you name any of his victims as well as you can cite Dahmer's name? Before today's case, we couldn't either. Butw e have to say it so we can make their death mean something. So we don't let it get lost in the murder's fame. We have to say it out loud so the whole world knows that our criminal justice system is a largely flawed system. Let's explore Konerak's story and see just how much the Milwaukee police force fucked up, and how they could have prevented at least a dozen more murders.
