Happy Halloween! Just in time for the tail end of the spooky season, we decided what better time than to discuss horror and its connections to interdisciplinary history. Our first episode will delve into Angela Smith's interdisciplinary approach to her book ", Hideous Progeny: Disability, Eugenics, and Classic Horror Cinema," where we talk about how monster movies have permeated our cultural subconscious, even if there are traits that are negative representations of marginalized groups when put into context with their historical period.
Trigger warning: This episode will discuss descriptions of ableism and racism in cultural media. Listener discretion is advised.
