After Broad and Market

Episode 1 - Sakia

Listen Later

At a bus stop in downtown Newark in 2003, a queer teenager’s life was lost in a homicide that should have rocked the nation. Why did that not happen? By exploring who Sakia Gunn was in life, we take an in-depth look at why her story matters so much 20 years later.

This is the first episode of "After Broad and Market," a co-production of LWC Studios and Chasing the Dream, a public media initiative from The WNET Group.
