“Telling our stories, first to ourselves and then to one another and ultimately to the world, is a revolutionary act,” Mock said. “It’s an act that can be met with dangerous curiosity and hostility, and for many women, like myself, abuse. And yet telling our stories can also be met with love and transcendence and community — which has brought all of us here this evening.”
