Today on Being Mary, we begin a brand-new series:
Daughter – Mom – Grandmother: The Evolution of Love.

We start at the beginning — the bond between a mother and daughter.

It’s one of the most complex, beautiful, and emotional relationships we experience as women.
 It can lift us up.
 It can challenge us.
 And at times, it can break our hearts.

But it’s also the thread that ties generations together — passing down wisdom, strength, and stories.

In this episode, I reflect on growing up as a daughter, learning who we are under our mother’s gaze, and eventually seeing the woman behind the role — imperfect, loving, and doing her best with what she had.

This is a conversation about identity, forgiveness, matrescence, and the moment we realize…
 we’ve become our mothers in ways we never expected.
