Amy Gargiulo is the Library Media Specialist at Scotchtown Avenue School in Goshen, NY. Her mission is to make the library a dynamic place where kids not only find entertainment, but also solace and enrichment. She encourages kids to search for books and research topics that they are authentically interested in - not just the latest and greatest. “If you only read what everyone else reads, you will only know what everyone else knows”, is her favorite quote. Amy is motivated and inspired to help kids discover their joy and passion in books,because as a little kid, she found her passion in a similar way. Her early elementary years introduced her to an interest in marine biology, which she pursued professionally overseas until she landed back in Orange County, and luckily, in our SAS Library. Her passion for helping kids find their passion is contagious.
