This week Matt is joined by Brett Cloutier who is the head boys basketball coach at Princeton high school in Minnesota and is also the host of The Minnesota Basketball Coaching Podcast. Brett grew up in Brainerd and developed his love for sports and coaching growing up there. Matt and Brett share their thoughts on some of the best basketball players they watched growing up in that area. Brett was recruited to go to Augsburg to play basketball but ended up playing baseball instead. While taking a break from hoops his passion for the game grew and he went into teaching and ultimately becoming a basketball coach. They dive into how the COVID-19 pandemic altered the end of the Princeton basketball season giving them the empty feeling of not being able to compete in the state basketball tournament. During the quarantine is when Brett decided to put together the Minnesota Basketball Coaching Podcast which he has done a great job with and now had going for 29 episodes and counting. Brett shares his thoughts on the quality of coaches in this state and the common themes that he hears from them during his interviews.
