Mahmoud "Blue" Lamptey became a part of my life off the strength of a typo in their cellphone number & became family the moment I brought them on to my Lolli & Pops team in 2016. Blue is the epitome of an optimist & an individual that takes pride in their multifaceted nature. An advocate for the LGBTQ+ community & speaking up against Islamophobia, they encourage others to "see the other side of the coin". In the midseason finale for Season 1 of Cookies & Conversation Podcast, Blue shares with me how their journey of self-acceptance started years ago but the power of amplifying their voice has only come to the surface in recent months.
